I have started a quick, fun project whose official name is yet to be determined. The idea was spawned by a conversation with a fellow designer on the bus ride home from school. We sat and had a healthy debate around the definition of “affordance” and how it should be defined in the context of web based interactions (Ya I know, kinda nerdy).

As designers we have a whole vocabulary of fancy (sometimes ridiculous) words that we often throw around in conversations. I have often found myself nodding in agreement though honestly a bit fuzzy on what that word exactly meant. So John, Annie and myself have taken up the task to create a simple place that defines words in the context of design and perhaps even give a helpful sentence so that you can use them like a pro. So if words like proprioception, affordance, and ontology peek your noodle, then this will be the place for you. Perhaps you will even learn a word or two to impress your design colleagues.

The site is going to start (very) simple, but hopefully will evolve in complexity and features. I will keep you up to date on our official launch!

Here is a very random shirt I made for a school thing. Get it… ideator… aviator… I know, I know. Kinda cheesy.

The films challenge us to question the “status quo” and to rethink life from a new perspective. It’s beautiful.

Watching his films remind me of why it is so important to stay grounded and focused on whats most important in life. It is so easy to get distracted by all the “busyness” of life that we forget to savor and enjoy the precious moments of each day.

I am so excited to announce the launch of my new website! I have worked hard to create a unique experience in which you can learn more then just what I do, but get a taste for who I am as well. This website is jam packed with fun information, links, pictures, interactive elements, and pretty much any other detail related to my design career. I hope to use this as a channel to share with you where/what/and how my future journey evolves.

This website would not have been possible without the solid development by Adam Putinski. He truly transforms developing code into an art form. I cannot say enough about how thankful I am for his patience (especially when I am pixel pushing) and diligence on this project.

Additionally, I would like to thank Tanner Perrien for the backend support and Jessica Swayze for helping with content.

So please look around and explore the new cameronreynoldsflatt.com

Reminds me of a similar article in Sky Magazine (I know of all places) called The M Factor, that focuses the conversation around the Millennial generation and its desire to work somewhere with purpose and meaning.
